Exhaust

I have finally got to starting the exhaust. I first ordered the mandrel bends from Ospray Exhausts who  messed up my order and were very apologetic over the phone and told me that they would send out the correct bends the next day. Two months later and after about 20 phones calls which none have been returned, so I took my business elsewhere. I since been purchasing all my bends from JP Exhaust Ltd who have always been helpful and they return your calls.

First off I purchased the header flange plate from Fast Dan off Locostbuilder which wasn't cheap at £60.

As you can see I have the challange of routing the exhaust around the steering column.

There is about only 5mm clearance between the exhaust and the column.

You can see where the primary headers tubes meet the 2-1 collector. The primaries aren't that short, in fact I have made the same length of the standard exhaust of the Honda S2000. I have heard of too many story of people making their own headers which has reduced the HP compared to the standard factory headers. Hence I'm trying to keep everything the same length as the standard header.

The are two reasons why I decided to use the slip-on collectors. First I though it would be easier if I did this then I wouldn't have to remove the motor again to fit the exhaust and secondly I was thinking that at a later date I might want to make a 4-1 header. This way the hard part of routing the exhaust around the steering column is already done.
